What's So Great About It?

What's So Great About It?

So, if anyone recalls this from the live video at the Carnegie Centre in 2009, the words have changed. I've also improved the guitar, added some good bass and drums, and chosen an appropriate sound for my new lyrical theme. I'm not a total heavy metaler, just because a few dunderheads stole a few of my songs. Medium-rock bands like Blue Rodeo stole whole albums from me. I pleased most of all with my lyrics, which I notice missing in a lot of music they're playing in my face these days.

But that's not what I came here to talk about today. I wanted to address those people from last night who were boasting about how they had my power. First of all, how did they accomplish that? Does stealing my posts give them my 'power?' Maybe we should fix that. What I'm more interested in is knowing why they are boasting about having my power. Wouldn't it be more impressive to have Ellen's power or Saturday Night Live's power? They don't want that; they want my power. And they want it so they can feel like God Almighty on a Saturday night in March 2019.

Now, about the new song, the words are new but the melody is old. I changed the chorus vocal melody a bit, too, from the last video from 2009. I started out wanting to create a totally fictitious incubus, but the Ellen offense hit me as I was working on it. I'm not saying she's an incubus, but that she has some similar characteristics to an incubus. For one thing, she attacks through your subconscious with her television program. She probably jams things in your head without your knowledge. What do they do to frauds like her when they have them locked up? Aren't some of those punishments on the grotesque side? Hardly an 'all ages' event. What a huge secret to keep from millions of people.

I like this new tune, but I'll let you judge for yourself with your own ears. If you're listening to the same version I posted, you should make it well past the title and its predictable comeback putdown. The words are good in this song, whatever it's about. And the melody is nice. I need to touch up the bass a bit though, and maybe the drums a little.

5:37pm. And those punishments they dish out to busted stars are grotesque as a measure of justice against a grotesque crime. Do you know what Ellen is to me? A kind of rapist. I discuss some of her crimes in the video for this previous post, the Edgar Allen Poe Blues. Her and her comedy friends are like a gang of thugs and rapists who rape my work and have you all thinking I'm indecent afterwards. And I'm tired of them being able to interfere with my music. Why can't they mind their own business? Anyway, this thug/rapist/subconscious intruder Ellen should not be on the airwaves where she can cause widespread harm.
